People hold protest against frequent accidents

UDHAMPUR: To express resentment against the local administration and concerned department for not taking serious note of increasing road accidents, residents of Ramnagar and Udhampur town staged a demonstration here on Saturday. The protestors were led by Advocate Sanjeet Bavoria.
The protestors were demanding that concerned officials should be made accountable for such incidents in which people have to suffer and precious lives were lost. They alleged that bad road conditions at village Keya led to yesterday’s fatal accident in which 12 people killed and several other injured.
Raising slogans against government, protestors blocked the Dhar Road near Slathia Chowk.
They were demanding immediate repairs of link roads in the district especially link road from Ghordi to Barmeen, one going towards Basantgarh and others. Protestor said that despite their repeated request no body from concerned department pay due attention and invariably inviting fetal road accidents.
They also highlighted that condition of roads in Tehsils Ramnagar, Chenani, Majalta and Panchari is also dismal and requires up-gradation to avoid such tragic road mishaps.
