KATHUA: Pensioners Welfare Association District Kathua held a meeting under its Chief Advisor Tara Singh in which the participants highlighted their demands.
President of the Association Amar Nath Dogra in his address said that the pensioners are presently getting medical allowance of Rs 300 per month which is sufficient only for a couple of days medicines for the normal ailments in the old age. He appealed to the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to enhance the medical allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 3,000 per month. He also demanded that the interview for lower level posts which has been abolished by the Centre, may also be abolished in the Jammu and Kashmir State.
Prominent among others present in the meeting included Dilsher Singh, Amrik Singh, Khushi Ram Shjarma, Dewan Chand, Sohan Lal, Des Raj Verma, Saran Singh, Shambu Nath verma, M. S Jamwal, Daleep singh, Puran Singh and Karan Singh.
