Pensioners seek enhancement in medical allowance

JAMMU: All J and K State Pensioners Association staged protest against the Finance Minister, who didn’t speak about the medical allowance for the State pensioners which was assured by the late former Chief Minster, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
Madan Lal Abrol, Association President, said that “Center has introduced Seventh Pay Commission for the Central Govt employees but unfortunately the Finance Minister didn’t speak in the budget regarding Seventh Pay Commission whereas the MLAs are getting Rs. 3,000 per month as a medical allowance but the state pensioners are getting Rs. 300 per month for the last 20 years.
Abrol appealed to the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti to intervene in this matter and resolve the problem being faced by the pensioners.
Others who joined the protest include Yash Pal Senson, Prof. Mohd Ayub Khan, Narpati Sharma, Shanti Swaroop Baru, Raj Kumar Sharma, Dev Raj Gupta, Sham Lal Mishra, Ram Dass Bhagat, Jagdish Dogra, Puran Chand Khajuria, Des Raj Sharma, Madan Lal Sharma, Raj Kumar Banathia, Harbans Singh, Bhushan Pargal and Mohammad Shafi.
