Peerzada assures assistance to flood damages

SRINAGAR: Minister for Haj, Auqaf, Floriculture and Public Enterprises, Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed conducted a tour of his Constituency and took stock of the damages caused to the property and crops due to recent flood.

During the tour, the minister visited Vailoo, Hallpora, Shatru, Nowbugh, Tangwani and Matigouran villages of the Constituency.
Peerzada met with the people and expressed his sympathies with the affected, assuring that the government would provide every possible help for their rehabilitation. He maintained that the concerned officers have been directed for immediately assessing the loss to the crops of maize, paddy and horticultures so that the sufferers could be compensated.
While expressing his sympathies with the inhabitants of Hallpora, the minister assured them that the authorities of Department of Flood Control would be entrusted the job to deploy the team of experts to ascertain the reasons of entering water in the village.
Interacting with the individuals and delegations, who met on the way and apprised him with the problems confronting to them, the minister said the government would initiate appropriate steps to compensate the affected people.
Regarding provision of free ration for six months to the affected families, he said that the matter would be taken up with concerned ministry.
