BISHNAH: General Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Yash Pal Sharma, MLC along with senior leaders of the party on Wednesday visited border areas of Deoli, Deoli Tibba, Rehal, Arnia, Madolein, Alla, Trewa, Mashey Dai Kullah and Kaku Dai Kullah.
While interacting with the residents of border areas, Sharma asked the State Government to provide immediate relief to the affected families. He regretted that border firing has become a routine affair but nothing has been done by the authorities to protect lives and properties of the residents of border areas.
Sharma along with other leaders also visited houses which were damaged in Pak shelling and also met the families of the those who lost their lives in shelling.
Residents of the border areas rued that they have been reduced as cannon fodder before guns because authorities have failed to provide shelter to them. They said that it was not new for them, border people always suffer whenever there is hostility on the border. They, however, said that this time worst type of situation has arisen because shells are exploding in the residential areas.
Expressing his grave concern over mounting miseries of the border residents, Sharma asked the government to ensure the safety of civil population of the border area. He demanded that residents of border areas should be shifted to safer places till normalcy restored on the IB.
He also demanded that the ex-gratia should be provided to the affected people immediately, besides free and best medical treatment to the border people.
PDP leader supported the demand of allotment of five Marlas plot to all those border families who have been living in firing range.
