DODA/KISHTWAR: Accusing PDP-BJP coalition of plunging Jammu and Kashmir into unprecedented political uncertainty, National Conference on Thursday expressed anguish over slow pace of development, dwindling economic activity and vitiated atmosphere in the backdrop of one after another controversy generated to divert the attention of people from real issues.
“The tall claims made during elections and dreams shown by the PDP and BJP to their respective constituencies have fallen flat with people feeling pinch of mis-governance, giving rise to disenchantment and disillusionment”, Provincial President Devender Singh Rana said while addressing the party conventions at Doda and Kishtwar. Rana said the inflated balloon of the PDP-BJP Government has deflated even before completion of its hundred days in the office with inherent contradictions between the two, leaving administration in complete disarray. The disenchantment and disillusionment among people have crossed all limits which is a reflection on performance of the government, he added.
“The most intriguing aspect of the government is treatment meted out to the flood sufferers and the border dwellers, whose plight was exploited to hilt by the PDP and BJP before, during and after the elections”, Rana said and referred to most dilapidated condition of various utility services, which are still craving for attention and restoration. Rana cautioned the government not to test patience of people and said the time has come when the coalition dispensation must appear to be performing rather than dilly dallying. “If the people can vote, they have the right and might to negate howsoever mighty the political players must be considering themselves”, he added. The Provincial President also charged the government of negating the gains of Omar led government and said the big effort launched for public welfare has been spilled down the drain. Former Minister, Sajjad Ahmed Kitchloo, former Legislator Khalid Najeeb Suharwardy, former MP Sheikh Abdul Rehman and senior leaders Th Kashmira Singh, Babu Rampal, Sheikh Bashir Ahmad, Brij Mohan Sharma, Tanvir Ahmad Kitchloo , Surinder Singh Bunty and Rohit Bali were also present.
