PDP-BJP Govt’s development claims ‘cruel joke’: Congress

STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Terming PDP-BJP Coalition in Jammu and Kashmir as a ‘total failure’, former Minister and senior Congress leader, Raman Bhalla said that State Government’s claim regarding development has proved to be a cruel joke.
While addressing party workers during a membership cards distribution function here on Saturday, Bhalla said that the present coalition partners have failed to respect the mandate of the people as they made a complete ‘u-turn’ on their propagated policies and ideologies for the sake of sharing power which has exposed the “double standards” of the two parties.
“Their sudden shift and surrender dismayed and disappointed their respective electorate besides exposing their hollow and false slogans used to hoodwink the people,” he said.
The government has failed to ensure delivery at the basic levels like availability of ration, power, health, education sector and unemployment, he said adding that the employees of different categories including teachers, daily wagers, casual and need- based workers and other such categories of people are regularly seen on protests for their just and genuine demands.
“This kind of situation has disappointed common man who is already facing the brunt of ‘Achhe Din’ promise of Modi Government, as the prices of all essential commodities and items of daily use have increased manifold,” he added.
Asking youth to play positive role, Bhalla strongly maintained that the youth of a nation shapes and moulds its present and paves the way for its future.
“The young generation shoulders a huge chunk of the responsibility of nation building; not the politicians or the policy makers alone. It would be more accurate to say that the youth working in tandem with the government decide the fate of a nation and its coming generations. It is, therefore, important that the voices of the youth get the right platform,” he added.
The membership card distributing function was organized by Vijay Sharma, Block President which was presided over by Anil Chopra District, Jammu President.
Among those who were present on the occasion include S.C Verma, DCC Jammu Senior Vice President, P.S Chouhan, B.B Gupta, Chanchal Popley, Rajinder Singh, DCC Jammu General Secretary Naresh Maini, Block Vice President Davinder Singh, Block General Secretary S.S Dutt, Block General Secretary Ranbir Singh, Ward President Deya Ram, Ward President Vijay Abrol, Ward President Om Parkash Sharma, Ward President Sukhdev Singh and Ward President Surjeet Singh.
