NAGROTA: Provincial President National Conference, Devender Singh Rana on Sunday launched a scathing attack on the PDP-BJP dispensation for pushing Jammu and Kashmir to wall by creating a situation of drift, showing insensitivity towards peoples’ aspirations and forcing aggressive nationalism, as a result of which the State is in total chaos.
“Both the regions of Kashmir and Jammu are on boil because of the wrong policies of the coalition, which are serving complementary and supplementary to each other”, Rana said while addressing public meetings at Panjgrain and Shurta Panchayats in Nagrota Assembly Constituency.
The Provincial President particularly targeted the BJP, the self-styled Messiah of the Jammu region, and asked what it has delivered during the past two and half years except flaunting aggressive nationalism. The people had mandated the party for ‘Ache-Din’ and what they got in return is just a nightmare. The scenario on the development front is pathetic. “This is not what Jammu had aspired or visualised in wildest of its dreams”, he said.
Rana termed the BJP leaders and ministers as dream sellers and referred to the total neglect of border residents along Line of Control and International Border during the recent and ongoing skirmishes and shelling on daily basis. “The discredited state government owes an explanation to the people as to why it could not keep promises of raising shelter sheds, bunkers, allotting plots or ensuring reservation in the professional educational institutions and jobs for the wards of border residents”, he said adding that these were the commitments made by the BJP during election in 2014. He said if the BJP as partner in the state government and main player in the Central government could not come to rescue of the border residents, who else can meet their expectations in the prevailing scenario.
The Provincial President said the BJP has mastered in whipping up passions and exploiting situations but when it comes to delivering, its leaders and ministers are just found wanting because of their total disconnect with people at grass root level. “When border residents were falling like sitting ducks, the BJP stalwarts were entangled in extended Dussehra and Diwali celebrations and holding Diwali Milans”, he said and asked what could be the lowest depth of insensitivity than this.
The MLA Nagrota said the situation in the so-called stronghold of BJP is so precarious that its self-styled stalwarts are now finding their home turf quite hostile because of their non-performance and lies. “It is time for the coalition to read writing on the wall and perform or perish, lest the people throw them out of the arena which they once called their stronghold”, Rana maintained.
Among those present in the public meetings were S.N Khajuria, Rameshwar Dutt, Siraj-ud-Din, Capt Bansi Lal Sharma, Angrej Singh, Thoru Ram, Noor Mohammad, Mohammad Shafi, Sudesh Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Isher Dass Sharma, Raj Baru, Bishen Dass, Rajinder Sharma, Darshan Lal and Noor Jahan.
