PDP-BJP Coalition lacks roadmap to serve people: Bhalla

STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Expressing anguish over total failure of official machinery to solve day-to-day problems of the people, former Minister and senior Congress leader, Raman Bhalla on Tuesday said that government’s failure has been forcing the people to adopt agitational path.
“The way people are being forced to come on streets against non-availability of basic amenities like drinking water, ration and power supply is an indication of the total failure of the PDP-BJP Government”, Bhalla said while interacting with people of Nai Basti area in Gandhi Nagar Constituency.
“Instead of solving peoples’ problems, leaders of coalition are over-burdened with solving their own internal conflicts and bickering,” Bhalla said, adding that two and half years of PDP-BJP regime are marked with conflicts and fissures. He observed that day to day problems of the people are compounding with every passing day and leaders of both the coalition partners are brazenly indulged into legalising nepotism. He said that government seems to be more concerned about hoodwinking the masses by making false promises rather than taking some concerted steps to solve their problems.
Castigating PDP-BJP coalition for weakening traditional amity and regional harmony in a sensitive State like Jammu and Kashmir, former Minister accused the two parties of playing to galleries to conceal their inherent contradictions.
“PDP and BJP are creating hype and plunging the State into uncalled controversies over issues which are no way connected either with governance or the much touted development”, he said.
Bhalla alleged the PDP-BJP leaders are busy only in delivering sermons and repeating hollow claims. However, he said the fact remains that developmental activities are almost invisible and no concrete measures are taken to address the issues of livelihood.
“Unemployment is a huge challenge for the State and this problem contributes to the political uncertainty and unrest. Instead of taking concrete steps to provide means of livelihood to people, the present government has neglected it completely. The comprehensive development process initiated by the previous Congress led Government in all the three regions of the State has been brought to a grinding halt by the present PDP-BJP Government,” Bhalla asserted.
Speaking on the occasion Bhalla said that PDP-BJP Government in the state has failed to fulfill a single commitment so far and there is zero delivery on the ground. The government has no road map for the equitable and harmonious development of the State, he said.
Instead of serving the people the BJP is dividing the people by raising emotional and sensitive issues most tactically, he added. Shello Manas, Shello Devi, Kartro Devi, Anita Devi, Raj Rani, Suresh Rajput, Vijay Choudhary, Ashok Sharma, Tinni, Ashok Mahajan, Ashwani Mehara, Ravi Mahajan, Gullu Sharma and Vicky were also present.
