STATE TIMES NEWS

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Chief G.A Mir on Tuesday said that PDP-BJP Government in the State is a house of controversies with startling instances projecting lack of coordination between the Coalition Partners leading to destabilisation of Jammu and Kashmir to a larger extent.

He stated this while addressing a daylong political convention of party workers here at Beerwah.

Lashing out at ‘Achey Din’ slogan of Modi led Government at Centre, Mir said that Modi Government has let down the people of Jammu and Kashmir by agonising them in the name of relief, rehabilitation, packages, employment, etc. He said Congress Party being a constructive opposition want the Government to respond to people’s issues and come out with a white paper on rehabilitation of flood affected people, new recruitment policy, regularisation of daily rated workers  and other problems confronting people.

“Congress being an oldest political front of the country with a history of 130 years in the service of people has a vision for development, progress and dedication to work for strengthening the masses and making them self-reliant. India being the largest democracy in the world is famous because of the secular character of the Congress Party. It has always maintained the secular fabric of the Country at all costs and by all means”, he maintained.

“Being a constructive opposition in the State, Congress Party won’t remain as a mute spectator to the wrong doings and anti people policies of PDP-BJP Government”, he asserted.

Responding to the local demands of Beerwah, the JK PCC Chief urged the Government to provide road-link between Tosa Maidan and Beerwah and establish Toosa Maidan Development Authority to boost tourism industry in Kashmir.

MLA Inderwal and Vice President JK PCC G.M Saroori hoped that people of Kashmir, Jammu and Ladakh will continue to extend love and respect towards Congress because of its pro-people policies. He appealed to the people for strengthening Congress to ensure development of the State.

Former PCC President Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed, former Minister Taj Mohi-u-Din, General Secretary Nazir Ahmad Khan, Farooq Andrabi Spokesperson, Zahid Hussain Jan, G.N Mir Lasjan, Abdul Gani Khan, Master Mohammad Maqbool, Jawahira, Abdul Gani Naseem and Gulam Hassan Geelani also spoke on the occasion.
