JAMMU: Ashok Khajuria, former state president of Bharatiya Janata Party, also took a dig at the controversial remarks made by “the people in the seat of power” after the killing of Hizbul militant Burhan Wani on July 8 by security forces and termed his party’s alliance with PDP “unhealthy”. He said it will “spoil the health of the nationalist people” in Jammu and Kashmir.
“I have been saying from the beginning it is an unholy alliance (between BJP and PDP),” he told reporters here.
Khajuria claimed that BJP will face a “huge loss” due to the alliance.
“An unholy alliance can still be run, but if we talk of running an unhealthy alliance, it will spoil the health of nationalist people in the state and BJP will face huge loss,” he claimed.
Attacking those who termed Wani’s killing an “accident” and had said that had the state government known of Wani’s presence at the scene of the operation by security forces he might have got a second chance, the BJP legislator said, “We will talk about things which will be good for Jammu and Kashmir and the Indian nation”. “We will not talk about the remarks of certain people in the seat of power who will tell us that Wani’s killing was an accident and if we knew it prior to the encounter he had been saved and given another chance. For what should have Wani been saved. For what?” He asked. “Whatever remarks you will make for saving your chair and whosoever has said so whether it belongs to our party or our coalition partner, we do not accept it,” he said. Reacting acerbically over the remark made by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti asking police to seek apology from Kashmiri youths for killing Hizbul Mujahideen Commander Burhan Wani, BJP MLC Ashok Khajuria said that seeking apology from police for killing a dreaded militant is simply out of question.
He said that Chief Minister’s stance over the issue is uncalled for and could further let down the morale of security forces which are already doing the most to maintain restrain amid flickering statements of ruling political class and deteriorating law and order situation in the valley. Citing the ideology and sacrifices of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee, Pt Premnath, Shaheed Pt Deen Dyal Upadhyay, Khajuria said that BJP shall not leave the path shown by these legendry stalwarts as changing ideology for petty benefits is not in our blood. Khajuria also informed that he had threadbare discussion with DGP JKP over the issue.
“I have categorically asked the DGP that there is no need to seek apology from anybody for killing a terrorist”, he further divulged.
