Kathua: Former Minister and Ex MLA Billawar Constituency Dr Manohar Lal Sharma have extended Mahashivratri greetings to the people of State and paid obedience at famous Shiv Temples at Durung, Galak-Challain, Dinga Amb of Billawar Constituency.
Dr Sharma took part in the day long religious ceremony and prayed for the peace in the State. He also participated in special Pooja Archna and Bhandara.
During his whirlwind tour of Billawar Dr Sharma also held public meetings at Durung, Challain, Pacca Kotha, Dinga Amb and took stock of the people’s problems. While addressing the gathering Dr Sharma said that the PDP -BJP alliance has failed to address the problems of the people who gave them mandate to represent. He said people of Hilly areas of Billawar and Kandi areas are badly deprived of drinking water and electricity. He said the farmers of Kandi areas are going through tough time beacuse of very grim spell of rain. Since people of Kandi areas are mainly dependent on rains for their crops but the situation has made the position of farmers merciful, Dr Sharma added. Dr Sharma assured people that the matter of crop compensation shall be taken up with Governor. He also cautioned district administration to take adequate measures and advance planning to tackle water crises which may worsen in ensuing summer season.
The deputation hailed from Kyal Dramani, Galak, Ramkote and Pacca Kotha also apprised the problem of defunct hand pumps and transformers.
Dr Sharma taken up the issues with the officers of district and Tehsil administration and called for redressing of issues related to civic ameneties within time bound manner.
While assuring people of every support Dr Sharma said the he will continue with his endeavor to address the issues of people in his capacity and potential best.
