UDHAMPUR: Minister of State for Finance and Information Technology, Pawan Kumar Gupta convened a meeting with Commanding Officer, 35-BRTF, H.S Maan at Dak Banglow Udhampur here on Monday to discuss the condition of various roads under Border Road Organisation (BRO).
During the meeting, minister enquired about the status of various roads under BRO. Minister stressed that there is need for repairing the national Highway-1 from Flatta to Jakhani.
The minister asked for maintenance and black topping of all roads in Udhampur District with proper drainage system within two months. He said that improvement in road condition will also facilitate tourists and pilgrims during the ensuing Shri Amarnath Yatra.
Commanding Officer, 35-BRTF assured the minister that the repair and maintenance work of various roads would be completed before the commencement of Amarnath Yatra. He said that necessary directions have been issued to the concerned officers to expedite the repair of roads.
