UDHAMPUR: Minister of State for Finance and Information Technology, Pawan Kumar Gupta was honoured at an impressive function organised by Jagriti Old Age Home at Udhampur on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that the government has taken several initiatives for the welfare of the distressed classes, yet he assured all possible help to the old age home to further improve it. He said that present government was committed to provide corruption free, transparent and accountable governance, besides providing improved basic facilities to the people.
He maintained that Rs. 20 crore have been sanctioned for various developmental activities like black topping of various roads in Udhampur city and peripheral areas. He informed the gathering that tendering process has already been completed for Tikri to Katra Road, besides 45 hand pumps have been installed in Udhampur.
R.C Nagar, President Old Age Home, prominent citizens of the area and a large gathering were present on the occasion.
