JAMMU: State Vigilance Oragnisation (SVO) has caught a Patwari red handed while demanding and accepting bribe for processing a case of land compensation.
According to SVO, one Gul Mohammad Bhat, resident of Kotal Bajarni, Tehsil Bhagwa, District Doda lodged a complaint that Patwari of Halqa Bajarni was demanding Rs. 50,000 as illegal gratification from him for processing his case of compensation of land, which came under the alignment of link road Bajarni-Lal Draman.
Accordingly, FIR 28/2014 under Section 5(1) (d) R/W 5(2) J&K P.C Act 2006 BK and Section 161 RPC was registered against the accused Zakir Hussain, Patwari Halqa Bajarni Bhagwa Doda.
The accused was nabbed red handed by the trap team of Vigilance Organisation, Jammu while accepting bribe amount of Rs. 30,000 as first installment in presence of independent witnesses. The accused Patwari has been arrested and further investigation of the case is in progress.
