JAMMU: Alleging encroachment by Aquaf Jammu on land to build flats at Patta Bohri, All Mohalla Welfare Committee Patta Bohri Talab Tillo on Tuesday staged a demonstration in front of DC Jammu’s office.
The demonstration comprising residents of different Mohallas of Patta Bohri, Anand Nagar, Anand Vihar, Surya Vihar, Manhorma Colony, Om Nagar, Udhaywalla, Huzari Bagh, Poonch House and Talab Tillo was led by Rajveer Singh.
Addressing the gathering, Rajveer said that despite several representations the authorities have failed to convert the aforesaid chunk of land into park which is now being claimed by Administrator Aquaf to erect flats for commercial purpose. He warned that such a move by Aquaf shall not be tolerated. Later, a deputation of residents called on Deputy Commissioner Jammu and submitted a memorandum on the issue.
The Deputy Commissioner gave a patient hearing and assured them that he will take up the matter with concerned officials.
