Patanjali celebrates Herbal Day

KATHUA: The Patanjali Yog Samiti, Kathua on Friday celebrated Herbal Day.
Dr. Bharat Bhushan, ADC Kathua inaugurated the celebrations at Saheedi Chowk, Kathua in the presence of Kapoor Singh, Jamwal, District President, Bharat Swabhiman Trust, Dr. Vishal Malagar Spokesman and Cashier Bharat Swabhiman Trust and Rameshwar Sharma, District President, Patanjali Yog Samiti, Kathua. T.R Bhagat, Chief Engineer SKUAST (Rtd), Dr. C.R.Mundey, Deputy Director (Rtd) ISM, Dr. Vikram Jamwal, Asstt District Medical Officer, ISM, Kathua, Sanjeevani Jyoti, SHO Women Police Cell, Kathua were the Guests of Honour on the occasion. Kapoor Singh, Jamwal while speaking on the occasion apprised that every year August 4, is being celebrated as Herbal Day (Zari-Buti Diwas) to celebrate the birthday of Acharaya Bal Krishan who alongwith Swami Ramdev has done and are doing commendable job to promote herbal way of life and has made Patanjali a household name the world over.
Dr. Bharat Bhushan, ADC, Kathua alongwith functionaries of Bharat Swabhiman Trust, Patanjali Yog Samiti and Bharat Sewa Samiti, Mahila Yog Samiti and other distinguished guests distributed medicinal plants to the people for plantation who had gathered on the occasion. He appreciated the organisers for mobilising people to adopt herbal way of life and motivating them for planting medical plants. He added that medicinal plants are very beneficial to us and parts of plants are being used since centuries to cure ailments and lead disease free life. Master Mehar Singh, District President Bharat Sewa Samiti, Sunita Verma, District President Mahila Yog Samiti, Madan Sharma, Asha Rani, Vijay Kumari , Ganesh Dutt, Parshotam Sharma, Des Raj and Khem Raj also distributed plants on the occasion.
