JAMMU: Strong gusts disrupted power supply in several parts of the Jammu district where hundreds of homes remain without electricity since last 40 hours.
Several parts of Jammu city including Talab Tiloo, Bohri, Udhaywala, Hazuribagh, Gole Gujral belt and dozen of villages have been plunged into darkness. “The power supply is likely to restored by evening. PDD men are working on it,” District Magistrate Jammu Ajeet Sahu said.
The residents of these areas alleged that their pleas to Chief Engineer Power department, Jammu Shahnaz Goni fell on deaf ears.
They have now urged the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to intervene and get the power supply resorted at earliest. Power infrastructure was damaged in some areas of Jammu due to strong winds Tuesday night.
