JAMMU: The Panun Kashmir, an organisation of displaced Kashmiri Pandits, on Monday criticised the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti for her appeal to the community members settled outside the State to visit the Valley as ‘tourists’.
In a statement issued here, President Panun Kashmir, Vijay Bhat termed it as unfortunate and said instead of talking about their return and rehabilitation she is inviting Kashmiri Pandits to visit Kashmir as tourists, which amounts to applying salt on their wounds.
Bhat asked Mehbooba Mufti that the Kashmiri Pandits cannot be further used as cannon fodder or guinea pigs for experiment and will return on their terms and not at the terms and conditions of government.
Convenor Panun Kashmir, Ravinder Jalali made it clear that the Kashmiri Pandits cannot be taken for granted for any experimentation and it was unfortunate that the Chief Minister did not speak about the government plans and her idea for the permanent return and rehabilitation of displaced community who are living in different parts of country and outside as refugees, for no fault of them.
