Panun Kashmir flays PDP for raking up AFSPA

STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Panun Kashmir criticised Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti for advocating the revocation of AFSPA issue during the election times.
In the meeting held here on Friday, President Panun Kashmir, Vijay Bhat said that the issue of AFSPA is irrelevant at the time of elections and when the militancy is constantly raising its ugly face in Kashmir, more particularly in her home constituency i.e, Anantnag, Pulwama and Shopian.
Convenor Ravinder Jalali said that she herself admitted that when the situation improves we can revoke the AFSPA from some areas and can see the improvement in the space squeezed by militants. “Nobody denies it but she has to understand that, has the situation improved and reached to the situation which warrants the removal of security forces? It means that she blows hot and cold through the same breath, said Ravinder Jalali.
The reopening of fresh agitation indicates that government is accepting that the situation in the Valley is not conducive for the revocation of AFSPA and they are unable to protect citizens who are not supporting the secessionist forces,” he asserted.
