Panthers Party protests at Jantar Mantar; seeks postponement of Lok Sabha polls in Valley

NEW DELHI: Delhi Pradesh National Panthers Party staged a massive protest at Jantar Mantar here on Thursday urging Chief Election Commissioner of India, Dr. Nasim Zaidi to postpone proposed Lok Sabha bye-elections for two seats which fell vacant last year.
The Panthers Party is demanding to hold Lok Sabha elections in Kashmir Valley in the month May-onward because of weather conditions and disrupted road traffic into the Valley from all sides.
The Panthers Party activists led by Rajiv Jolly Khosla, President, Delhi Pradesh National Panthers Party, Romesh Khajuria, Senior Vice President, Dildar Hussain Beg, General Secretary assembled at Jantar Mantar where Panthers Party Headquarters (in exile) stand after the eviction of Prof Bhim Singh from Vithalbhai Patel House by the directions and orders of the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi since 2016.
The Panthers Party urged Election Commission of India to review its decision to hold bye-elections for two vacant seats in the Lok Sabha in April this year and demanded postponement of polls after the winter season in the interest of fair elections and participation of the voters.
The Panthers Party urged the Chief Election Commissioner of India to call an urgent meeting of the representatives of recognised political parties of J and K to create a consensus on the timing to hold Lok Sabha polls in the State of J and K.
Among those who joined the protest include Choudhary Ajit Singh, Sunita Chaudhary, Surjit Singh Guleria, Kifayat Hussain Rizvi General Secretaries-DPNPP, Alamdar Abbas, Om Kishan, A.J Rajan, Swaran Singh Yadav, Secretary, Jagmohan, Reena Singh, Satenderpal Singh, Dimple Peter, Gulzar Singh, Mehfooz Khan, Taslim Begum, Shakeel Ahmed and Rambabu Choudhary.
