SAMBA: Wrestler Pamma of Punjab and Abdul Ghani of Rajasthan shared main bout of Jai Baba Shivo Kesri Dangal title and won Rs 41,000 as prize money. Dangal which was held at village Goran in Samba District, was declared open by the Chief Guest, Joginder Singh, SSP Samba in the presence of Guest of Honour, Zorawar Singh Jamwal, Chairman Team Jammu.
Wrestlers from J&K, Punjab, Himachal and Rajasthan took part in 45 bouts. The second main bout of Rs 25,000 was won
by Sukha of Punjab who defeated Benia Min of J
and K Police while in the third main bout Nisar of Doda outplayed Lallian of Punjab and won Rs 18,000 as prize money.
Speaking on the occasion, Zorawar Singh said that such events groom young generation towards healthy lifestyle and keep them away from drugs.
SSP Samba lauded the Dangal Committee for holding such events that help in rejuvenating rich cultural values and also refrain the youth from taking drugs.
He also announced that a multi-specialty game center for Goran village will be established soon. Besides, he also agreed to send proposal for a Gymnasium under the Civic Action Programme.
The Dangal Committee under the presidentship of Rahul Sambyal and Des Raj Sharma presented a memento to SSP Samba.
Anupam Sambyal, Surinder Singh, Satish Dutta, Surjeet Singh, Ganesh Dutt Sharma, Satpaul Sharma, Manjeet Singh, Kishor Sharma, Romal Singh, Ashwani Sharma, Mohan Singh, Sooram Chand, Balbir Singh, Yashpaul Sharma, Rakesh Verma, Mohan Singh and Abhishek Badyal were also present.
