Pakistan’s frustration behind Jammu terror attacks: Tarun Chugh

STATE TIMES NEWS

JAMMU /SRINAGAR: In the past few days, terrorists have launched attacks in four locations across Reasi, Kathua, and Doda districts, resulting in the deaths of nine people, including seven pilgrims and a CRPF jawan. Additionally, seven security personnel and civilians were injured in these incidents.

Tarun Chugh, the National General Secretary of the BJP and the party’s incharge for Jammu and Kashmir, responded to the attacks by attributing them to Pakistan’s frustration. He linked the surge in violence to the successful completion of the Lok Sabha elections and suggested that increased military operations in the Kashmir Valley have forced terrorists to shift their focus to the Jammu region.

Chugh noted, “The center of terrorist activity has moved towards Jammu over the last three years as Army operations have curtailed their ability to operate in the Kashmir Valley. The Army has significantly weakened terrorist networks in Kashmir, and this has frustrated Pakistan.”

He assured that security forces are actively coordinating to counter the threat. “Police and security agencies are mobilizing resources to respond effectively to foreign terrorists in the Jammu region. The local population’s support, as seen in the Hiranagar encounter where residents alerted authorities to two terrorists, is a testament to our strong community ties.”

Chugh criticized Pakistan for reacting negatively to the positive developments in Kashmir. “Pakistan can’t accept the progress and peace in Kashmir, so they are attacking civilians, which is disgraceful. Our security forces have a strategy, and we will soon eliminate the remaining terrorists from Jammu, just as we did in Kashmir.”

Highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s stance, Chugh reiterated the government’s commitment to a ‘zero tolerance’ policy on terrorism. “We are much more capable under Modi’s leadership, and the adversaries know it,” he added.
