JAMMU: National Sikh Front (NSF) demanded stern action against such elements who have hurt the religious sentiments of Hindu minority in Pakistan by vandalising a temple in Teri village in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Karak District.
NSF Chairmanm Varinderjeet Singh said this while condemning this incident, adding that religious places of minorities, particularly Hindus and Sikhs in Pakistan are targeted at regular intervals and the holy places are damaged.
In many cases, the whole structures are badly damaged. Despite repeated incidents, the government in Pakistan has failed to take any action against the culprits, which encourages these elements to go to any extent to cause damage to the religious places of the said sections, he said.
Varinderjeet said that the international community should take note of the incidents of disrespect to the religious places and hurting the sentiments of minorities, exert pressure on Pakistan to ensure safety of Temples and Gurudwaras and book such elements who indulge in such activities.
Stringent laws should be framed with provision of severe punishment so that no one dares to attack and damage religious places, he said adding that it would also induce a sense of security among minorities there.
