STATE TIMES NEWS

JAMMU: Expressing their resentment against the Pahari Advisory Board, inmates of the Pahari Hostel Jammu on Monday held a protest. They alleged that  Pahari Advisory Board has become hub of corruption and there is no transparency within the Board.

Protesters led by Kashif Shah, Rahoof Khan and Rafaqat Bhatt, assembled in front of Press Club Jammu and raised slogans.

Students alleged large scale bungling in Jammu PG Boys Hostel and demanded immediate removal of the hostel warden along with in depth investigation of the matter.

Kashif Shah another inmate said that 100 students are enrolled in Boys PG Hostel Jammu but only 40 students are residing over there.

It is pertinent to mention here that the students of Pahari Hostel Jammu have regularly been protesting against the malpractices of the warden but non-serious attitude of government compelled them to sit on Dharna.

Kashif Shah maintained that whole propaganda of warden is known to the board authorities, civil administration, police authorities and even Deputy Chief Minister but no action has been initiated yet.

Raqeeq Khan informed that in any hostel the post of warden cannot be held by any lecturer but interestingly the post of warden in Pahari Hostel Jammu is being held by a lecturer namely Imtiaz Banday for the last more than three years.

They demanded immediate transfer of warden and CBI enquiry of records.

Others present in the protest were Shahid   Jafri, lmran Ahmed, Asif Malik, lrfan, Siraj Khan, Tanvir Malik and Pardeep Sharma.
