MENDHAR: Locals of border Tehsil Mendhar strongly resented failure on the part of Traffic Police, local police and Motor Vehicle Department to check over loading in Tata Sumo vehicles inviting a tragedy any moment.
A social worker Mohd Salim pointed out that Tata Sumo which has the capacity of 7-8 passengers, is push in 16 – 18 passengers and the driver of the Tata Sumo does not start the journey till he loads this number of passengers. The commuters highlighted that these vehicle drivers emboldened with their ties with the law enforcing agencies, care two hoots for the passenger’s complaints or requests.
The social worker has appealed to the authorities concerned to check the menace of overloading in the passenger vehicles thereby inviting a major tragedy leading to the loss and injuries to the precious lives.
