Outsiders dominate political scene in Sunderbani area: Team Sunderbani

JAMMU: It may sound absurd but it is a fact that the people of Sunderbani area have been the victims of politicians thrust upon people from outside Sunderbani since independence with development scenario suffering tremendously due to their step-motherly treatment. This was stated by the members of Team Sunderbani in a meeting held here on Thursday. Team Sunderbani said that, it has been stated that due to non-representation of locals of Sunderbani in the State Assembly, all those were elected to the State Assembly from the Tehsil other than Sunderbani exploited the local population of Sunderbani depriving them of the basic amenities’ of life even after 68 years of independence of India.
Taking a dig on the politicians, who were mostly from Nowshera, Team Sunderbani pointed out that all the head officers are located in Nowshera like PHE, PDD, sub-judge, education, irrigation, social forestry, forests, zoology mining, irrigation, police and other line departments and the local people of Sunderbani have to travel miles to reach these head offices for their day to day work, even not a single head office is located in Sunderbani, which speaks of apathy of successive governments in the State.
Team Sunderbani member said that Nowshera MLA, who has won last election making his place in the State Assembly, but surprisingly 70 per cent votes in the Sunderbani-Nowshera Assembly Constituency are from Sunderbani, but no tangible work has been carried out in Sunderbani making the people to suffer due to bad condition of road, health and other essential services.
He alleged that the role of political leadership of Sunderbani Nowshera segment has been awfully bad enough which is irking the general public due to biased attitude of incumbent political representative of the segment. Voicing the resentment of public due to gross discrimination being meted out to people of Sunderbani, Team Sunderbani also said that the developmental activities in Tehsil Sunderbani were being suppressed by outside politicians for vested interest multiplying the woes and miseries of the people there. He further added that the time has come when the people of Sunderbani are up in arms to raise their voice against discriminatory attitude of a political leader, who is the victim of gross liking and disliking with the people of Sunderbani people undergoing traumatic experience in respect of equal development of Sunderbani at par with Nowshera area. The signatories to the statement were include Amit Kumar, Surjeet Singh, Anwar Hussain, Joginder Lal, Kamal Singh, Puran Singh, Taj Hussain and Mir Hussain.
