Our land, job rights would be protected if voted to power: Azad

SRINAGAR: Democratic Azad Party Chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad exuded confidence that if voted to power, the land and job rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir shall be restored and protected.
“The honour and dignity of each one of us will be ensured”, Azad said while addressing a big public meeting at the border township of Uri.
The former Chief Minister spoke in detail about the overall upliftment of the downtrodden segments of the society and promised a fair and equal development to the disadvantageous remote and backward areas, adding that participation of Gujjar, Bakerwal and Pahari communities in the process of governance will be ensured.
Azad recalled the days when Uri was devastated by the earthquake and said that it was his personal efforts that brought comfort to the residents of the entire region of Uri.
The DAP Chairman promised to take all his dream projects to their logical conclusion if elected to power. He stressed the need of strengthening the health care infrastructure and also exploring the possibilities of upgrading the work culture as it used to be during his Chief ministership in J&K earlier.
Other senior leaders, who spoke on the occasion, included Taj Mohiuddin, G.M.Saroori and Peerzada Mohd Sayed.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Shuaib Lone, Ab. Ghani Khan, Mohd Sayed Shah, Aamir Rasool, Khalid Tufail and other senior members of the party.
Thousands of DAP supporters gave a rousing reception to the former Chief Minister on his arrival.
