We have a public grievance to be redressed through your esteemed newspaper as we are rendered helpless and left no door unknocked. We all are school going children studying in Primary and Nursery Classes want to awake the State Government and as well as district administration which is in deep slumber and not in a position to hear hue and cry for road connectivity.
We are the in-habitants of village Sooyian West, Sooyian East, Dhargloon and Gohlad of Tehsil Balakote and Tehsil Mendhar of district Poonch which are adjacent to Actual Line of Control have been ignored since the day of Independence and also been deprived of the basic facility which is necessary for the existence of every citizen to live with dignity.
We have no school to get the quality education and for that purpose children have to travel for kilometers after covering steep slope of rough mountains, particularly in bad weather conditions despite challenges of gushing dangerous and flooded Nallah (river) and brooks of Dhargloon and Gohlad. We cannot attend schools during raining, winter and hot season as all the ways to reach the school get closed. Moreover there is no government hospital or dispensary in our area and serious patients, delivery cases and victims of Pak shelling and firing oftenly die on the way to the hospital due to the non-connectivity of the roads in the area. After the hue and cry of this large population, the district administration along with PWD ( R&B) Division Poonch approved a small road project consisting of 3 Kms road alongwith motorable bridge over the Nallah of Dhargloon. The construction work of the motorable bridge was started in the year 2014 on war footings and sub structure i.e. abutment of bridge completed in very short time after that both the district administration as well as PWD (R&B) Construction Division Poonch went in deep slumber.
We have several times projected our genuine demands before the former PWD Minister J and K State as well as the district administration during the Public Darbar held by them but they went on giving false promises to complete this small road project and slept over the matter and file of this small project has been kept in cold store as no construction work of the bridge and 3 Km road is actually executed on ground but only JE of PWD (R&B) Construction Sub-Division Mendhar recently that too after a period of four years has allotted construction work of road of meager amount to the tune of Rs. 3 lakh to 4 lakh just to swallow the funds which is only an eye wash but in reality amount to the tune of Rs. 30 to 40 lakh are required to complete the remaining construction work of motorable bridge along with 3 kilometer road. We are sorry to say that our so called political leaders never come forward for the redressal of grievances and problems of people but they all of sudden come out of their hibernation alongwith a team of media persons accompanied by a class of sycophants to celebrate the ribbon cutting ceremony on day of inauguration to befool the public and get their appreciation.
