KISHTWAR: One person died on the spot while five others got injured in two road mishaps at Kishtwar.
One person was killed while four others received injuries, when the car they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into gorge on Kishtwar-Chatroo Road in Tehsil Mughalmaidan of District Kishtwar on Wednesday.
According to eyewitnesses, a Maruti Eco ( JK14D-7503) which was on its way from Thathri to Bhatta on reaching at Boan Goavran near Sigdi, 38 km from Kishtwar, skidded off the road and fell into deep gorge as driver lost control over it on the steep curve.
According to reports, police immediately rushed to the spot and along with locals rescued all from the ill-fated car and shifted them to District Hospital Kishtwar, where doctors declared one of them as brought dead, while others are undergoing treatment.
The deceased has been identified as Bihari Lal son of Gyan Chand resident of Chiba Thathri.
The injured have been identified as Sumitra Devi wife of Lekh Raj, Neelam Devi wife of Tara Chand, Sarishta Devi wife of Bihari Lal, Dev Raj son of Om Prakash all residents of Chiba, Thathri, Doda.
Meanwhile in another incident, one person got injured when a car (JK22-9911) rolled down into a gorge on Gandoh-Jaie Road near Animal Husbandry Office Gandoh in Distt-Doda on Wednesday morning.
The injured has been identified as driver Pervaiz Ahmed resident of Kashmir.
Locals immediately rushed to the spot and after retrieving the injured from the gorge shifted him to SDH Gandoh. However Police has registered FIRs in both cases.
