KATRA: Police on Thursday arrested a vehicle driver and recovered 115 pouches of liquor from his possession.
As per the details, a police team from Police Station Katra led by Inspector Arvind Sambyal, SHO Police Station Katra under the supervision of Dr. Ashok Sharma, SDPO Katra and Sumir Kotwal, Addl. SP Katra was on patrolling duty at Katra town and intercepted a Qualis No.JK02V/7938 near Chintamani Temple Katra. The vehicle was stopped for checking and during checking, police recovered 115 pouches of J and K Excise liquor from the possession of driver namely Upinder Singh son of Munshi Ram resident of Bhaga Tehsil and district Reasi. The accused driver was arrested, vehicle was seized and a case vide FIR No. 18/2017 under section 48-A Excise Act, 188/RPC was registered at Police Station Katra.
