JAMMU: State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) has booked a former MLC for demanding and accepting money for getting complaint’s son and his son-in-law appointed in J&K Police.
FIR 03/2016 under Section 5(1) D read with Section 5(2) P.C. Act Svt. 2006 has been registered against Mohammad Sultan Ganie Panditpuri, the then MLC Handwara on communication forwarded by GAD to SVO vide No. GAD (Vig) 89-comp/2014 dated December, 10, 2015.
The case was registered on the basis of conclusions arrived by the J&K State Accountability Commission.
A complaint was lodged before J&K State Accountability Commission by one Sonuallah Mir, son of Abdul Subhan Mir, resident of Batagund Handara District Kupwara alleging that the then MLC Mohammad Sultan Ganie Panditpuri had demanded and accepted Rs. 60,000 gratification from him for getting his son and his son-in-law (nephew) appointed in J&K Police. The allegations were verified by J&K State Accountability Commission, which established these after verification.
