Omar faces heat on Twitter

JAMMU: After National Conference President and Member Parliament from Srinagar Dr Farooq Abdullah on Monday attended a brain storming session to prepare joint opposition strategy on how to counter the Centre’s proposed move of striking down Article 35A, former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah announced his party would launch a special drive to educate the people of J&K about the implications of striking down #35A from August 14.
In few minutes Omar Abdullah’s twitter timeline was flooded with variety of remarks in response to his tweet. “Better organise awareness camps on how your grandfather Sheikh Abdullah merged Kashmir with India,” a follower tweeted in response. Referring to the selection of date to kick start the awareness drive, another follower went to question Omar’s credentials. “Interesting choice of date, Mr Abdullah, once again proving your pro-Pakistan credentials but am sure Modi govt will counter it”. A hardcore nationalist hit back strongly telling former Chief Minister “shedding crocodile tears now won’t yield anything.” Those who criticise mainstream politicians for mess people of Kashmir find themselves in, a follower of Omar Abdullah commented, “striking down 35A will close Dukaan of many politicians in Kashmir hence all this hue & cry”.
“Great hobby for the free time you have these days. While you are at it u could also celebrate Pakistan Independence day on 14th,”another follower tweeted exposing Omar’s double speak.
Those who read between the lines commented by saying,” So setting stage for putting more ghee in already burning fire. What we can expect from politicians like u”.
“Article 35A is discriminatory and it will go. One nation one law”, read another tweet.
