NYK organises in-house induction training

KATHUA: Nehru Yuva Kendra, Kathua organised  National Youth Volunteers in-house Induction Training Programme for 15 days duration from July 23 to August 6, 2017 under the scheme of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt. of India in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kathua in which over 30 Volunteers has participated.During the training the main focus was on capacity building of national youth volunteers through imparting various skills and education of various schemes and flagship programmes of the Govt.  to perform their duties as catalysts agent of society and act for the  welfare of  youth and social development. During the training volunteers were developed their communication, managerial skills, social leadership, life skills, personality development, self-identity and understanding,  administration and governance, emerging India -challenges and opportunities etc. They were aware and educated about various flagship schemes for public welfare and social development of Central and State Govt.  by lectures of  resource persons and expertise of different departments and institutions. During the training the volunteers actively participated in group discussions, report presentation, role play, formation of action plans, reporting, documentations, resource mobilization, team work, sports, cultural activities etc.On valedictory function of the training Shyam Sunder Kashyap, Deputy Director, NYKS, J and K was Chief Guest and conferred the appreciation certificates to the volunteers. In his address he stressed upon that there is huge gap between the poor, illiterate, weaker sections of the society and the resources available through various schemes of govt. and volunteers has to act like a bridge to linkage the poor with Govt schemes and generate awareness and educate the rural masses about the importance of their participation in achieving the objectives of the public welfare scheme. Volunteers have to play the role of Youth ambassador and NYK representative for Youth Development.  Som Datt Zard, DYC, presented key address note and briefed about the methodology of the training and outcome of the training. Dr. Amrish Vaid, Sr. Scientist and Head of KVK Kathua highlighted the importance of Agro based Industries for self-employment and income generation for unemployed Youth. He appreciated the volunteers for participation in Van Mohatasav lead by Dr. P.K. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, SKUAT. The trainees shared their training experiences and presented colourful culture programme on the occasion.
