NYK launches plantation, cleanliness drive

RAMNAGAR: Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Udhampur Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Govt. of India organized “Clean Village Green Village Programme” under which plantation drive was done in collaboration with Department of Horticulture and Floriculture under the supervision and guidance of Khushal Gupta (District Youth Officer , NYK Udhampur), S.K Gupta ( Chief Horticulture Officer ) and Arjun Singh ( Nodal Officer , Department of Floriculture ) at the premises of historical Narsingh Temple (Ramnagar).
The entire programme was coordinated by National Youth Volunteer of Ramnagar Abhishek Gupta along with the members of local youth clubs and NDRF volunteers. Different kinds of saplings that were planted included Guava , Bil Patra , Chandni , Kimb, Lemon , Grass etc.
Besides plantation , cleanliness drives were also organized in which the plastic material was collected and other garbage lying there was also disposed off. During the programme , the youth club members propagated the message of Mahatama Gandhi to make India , a clean and pollution free nation.
During the entire duration , to publicize the message of Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi, poster making and painting competitions were also organized on the theme of Swachhata Hi Sewa . A feeling of voluntary labour was also induced among the youth of the villages. Swachhata Pledges were also taken , Swachhata posters were also pasted at many prominent locations of Block Ramnagar.
