JAMMU: The State Coordinator of National Yuva Cooperative Society (NYCS), Opinder Sharma on Monday appreciated the promising athlete of the State, Yasmeen Akhter, a student of Humanity Public School, Bari Brahmana, here.
Yasmeen was presented a memento and certificate of appreciation by NYCS for representing the State in the final leg of national level trials held for GAIL Indian Speed Star at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi last month.
“Yasmeen was only athlete from the State to get selected in 100 meters event in 11-14 year age category. Earlier, she was shortlisted from Jammu District and then at the North India (state level) for the final national event,” Opinder Sharma told.
Yasmeen’s felicitation took place in the presence of Vice Principal of the School, Anku Charak and Coach, Mohan Lal. Expressing her thanks to NYCS for providing a platform to the State athletes, Vice Principal appreciated Yasmeen Akhter and her Coach, Mohan Singh.
