Kishtwar, Oct. 26: Nuzhat Iqbal Zargar who was acting as District President National Conference (NC Women wing) and resigned from the basic membership and post of the National Conference party in November 2012 had now decided to contest the state Legislative Assembly elections as an independent candidate from Doda constituency said that she cannot sit inside the four walls of his house and let the society ruin at the hands of present day politicians.

As per sources to The Global Kashmir Nuzhat Iqbal Zargar contested the Doda Municipal Committee (MC) election during the year 2005 from ward number 09 and got victory in the election, since then she remained very active as a Ward Member as well as political activist. It is further to mention here that Nuzhat Iqbal started her political career in the early nineties and followed the footsteps of her Grand Mother Late Kulsuma Begum Rather who was bold and out spoken lady during the agitation led by Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah against the rule of the Maharaja Hari Singh.
