JAMMU: Agitated over the irresponsible attitude of Controller Examination, Jammu University on the issue of not extending the date of submission of re-evaluation forms of law students and hike in late fee, the activists of State unit of National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) staged a protest in Jammu University Campus here on Wednesday.
Led by State General Secretary Avijot Singh, the activists assembled in front of JU and raised slogans against the university administration.
Singh alleged that despite the fact that the last date for submission of re-evaluation forms was 5th June, the day when all the educational institution were closed on the directions of Divisional Commissioner, the university authorities does not pay any heed to our requests for extending the date for next two more days to allow students to submit their re-evaluation forms.
Singh said that university authorities gave 15 days time to students to submit their re-evaluation forms but out of those 15 days only seven days were working due to the curfews and restrictions imposed by Government. University administration itself should had extended the date of submission of forms and shown some delicacy towards students, he added.
Despite directions given by Divisional Commissioner that all the educational institutions would remain closed on 5th June, how come JU flouted it blatantly, he asked?
Singh demanded immediate removal of Controller Examintion, JU and said that NSUI will not tolerate any kind of injustice towards student community.
Among those who joined the protest include State Vice President Raqqeeq Khan and Amjad Bhat, Puneet Singh, Sahil Singh Langeh, Abhishek Dogra, Nishant Gupta, Ranjot Singh, Israr Rahi and Balveer.
