NSUI protests against inflation

JAMMU: The activists of National Students Union of India (NSUI) on Saturday staged a demonstration against the hike in prices of petrol and diesel by the Centre and reached the protest venue by horse carts to express resentment against the decision.
“As the Modi government completes its first year, it has failed to fulfill the promises it made to people of the country,” said Udhay Bhanoo Chib, National Secretary NSUI.
He said that due to the hike in the prices it has become difficult for people to fill fuel in their vehicles.
“The government has increased the price of petrol by Rs 7 in the past 15 days and it has become difficult for people to refill their vehicles, so we decided to use horse cart to reach the venue of this protest,” he said.
Displaying a ‘fake cheque’ of Rs 15 lakh, Chib said, “We were promised that every citizen will get Rs 15 lakh each but so far we have received nothing. Where is the black money which BJP had promised to bring back within 100 days of formation of the government”?
Others who joined the protest included Raqeeq Khan and Amjad Bhat Vice Presidents NSUI, Ajay Kumar National Delegate, Sunny Parihar District President Jammu, Sahil Singh Langeh, Nishant Gupta and Ranjodh Singh State Secretaries.
