Raising slogans against the NDA government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, NSUI demanded an immediate roll back of the hike.
Led by by Delhi NSUI president Vikas Chhikara, the protest was attended by scores of office bearers and members of the student outfit.
“The price hike has come at a time when the farmers of this country are facing an acute agrarian crisis without much compensation from the government. This step (price increase) would only increase the burden on them.
“It is high time our prime minister started to think about the citizens of this country and not focus on a select few industrialists,” said Chhikara.
The government raised petrol prices by Rs 3.96 per litre and diesel by Rs 2.37 per litre from Thursday midnight.
