NSS unit of GCW Udhampur organised workshop

UDHAMPUR: National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Government College for Women (GCW) Udhampur organised a two days workshop on ‘Youth and Healthy Lifestyle’, which concluded on Tuesday. The function was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Prof. Kuldeep Koushal, Principal of the School.
The guests and audience were welcomed by Prof. Swarna Bhougal, NSS Programme Officer of the College.
In the first session, Dr. Chander Prakash spoke on the ‘Mobile Radiation and its Effects on Physical and Mental Health’. He elaborated on the ill effects of mobile radiations on the ecosystem. Chief Guest appealed to the students to participate in the public awareness actively.
In the second session, Dr. K.C Sharma enlightened the audience with the issue of ‘Social Networking and its Psychological Effects’. He emphasised on the need of awareness while using social networking sites because there are certain sites which render moral degradation to the society.
Second day workshop started with Yoga exercises taught by Hans Raj Shastri followed by a lecture by Dr. Parveen Kumari on ‘Traditional Indian Lifesyle’. She exhorted on the requisitness of adhesive character in the family structure of India in the present times.
On the valedictory function, Dr. Vishav Raksha was the Chief Guest and Prof. Kuldeep Koushal was Guest of Honour. Chief Guest focused on the inculcation of the virtue of service in the youth and also stressed on the purification of word, mind and soul. Prof. Koushal lauded the efforts made by the NSS units which made the function a success. The function ended with the vote of thanks by Dr. Mool Raj, NSS Programme Officer.
