NSS Raising Day Celebrated


KATHUA: NSS Day was celebrated by NSS Units of Govt. Degree College Kathua on Wednesday. The celebrations started with the lighting of traditional lamp by the Chief Guest Dr. B.L Gupta and Guest of Honour Dr. Ram Murti Sharma who were accompanied on stage by Prof. P.K. Rao, Dr. Tajinder Kour, Prof. Anirudh Sharma, Prof. Sumnesh, Dr. Ram Singh, Prof. Rachna and Dr. Suraya Partap Singh. A welcome address was given by Programme Officer Dr. Ram Singh, who gave a brief overview of the National Service Scheme in India. Former NSS Programme Officer, Prof. Sumnesh enlightened NSS Volunteers with his valuable thoughts and experiences as programme officer. In all 300 NSS volunteers registered with NSS Units undertook a NSS pledge to uphold the prestige of National Service Scheme and strive to maintain tolerance and sacrifice, love and concern, service and sacrifice.
BANI: Govt. Degree College, Bani celebrated NSS Raising Day in the central hall of the college with colourful presentations. Dr. Naresh Kumar Gupta, Principal of the College, delivered the inaugural address and exhorted the NSS volunteers to work whole- heartedly for the cause of national integration and development. Prof. Shambu Dutt, Programme Officer, administered pledge to the NSS volunteers to serve the country with dedication and sincerity.
Vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Meenakshi Jasrotia.
SUNDERBANI: NSS Foundation Day was celebrated by the NSS unit of Govt. Degree College Sunderbani in which Principal, Prof. Kuldeep Raj Sharma was the Chief Guest who inaugurated the function by lighting the traditional lamp followed by the Saraswati Vandana by NSS volunteers of the college.
Dr. Deepali Khajuria, NSS Programme Officer of the college welcomed the audience .Various NSS Volunteers spoke on NSS and performed cultural activities on the occasion. Priyanka Sharma conducted the proceedings of the programme. The function was concluded by vote of thanks by senior NSS volunteer Vikas Sharma. Staff of the College was also present on the occasion.
