NSS Raising Day celebrated

REASI: NSS Raising Day was celebrated by NSS Unit of the Government General Zorawar Singh Memorial Degree College, Reasi in which Principal of the College Prof Kaushal Samotra was the Chief Guest.
The celebrations commenced with lighting of lamp and ‘Saraswati Vandana’ presented by NSS volunteers. Principal in his address to NSS volunteers said, “Nation’s future depends on youths. NSS gives a platform to youths to develop their all-round personality and attain success in life. Youths should prevent themselves from bad habits and should serve the society and nation”.
During the programme NSS Volunteers Tarsem Lal, Shivnandan , Rinki, Vidutma , Ritu presented NSS Song, patriotic songs , their views on role of NSS for the development of nation . The NSS volunteers also observed a two minutes silence to pay homage to all those who lost their lives in the natural calamity in the State.
NSS Programme Officer, Prof Rajesh Sharma delivered a lecture on the goal of NSS and the importance of the emblem. Prof Prem Singh lauded the good work done by the NSS unit of the college and congratulated the NSS Programme Officers and all the NSS volunteers.
All faculty members, students of the college were present on the occasion. Vote of thanks was presented by Arun Sharma. Later on NSS volunteers also cleaned the college campus.
Meanwhile, NSS unit of Govt. Degree College Thannamandi celebrated NSS Foundation Day with full Zeal and enthusiasm .A series of programmes comprising of poetry recitation ,skit on drug abuse, songs ,group songs, speeches on the importance of NSS were organised. NSS Volunters also took pledge to work for society selflessly.
Dr. B.B Sharma Principal of the College appreciated the endevour of NSS Volunters and stressed upon the students to get enrolled in NSS in large numbers .
Earlier Prof. Saleem Ayaz Rather Programme officer NSS Unit welcomed the audience and briefed about the ongoing and those in pipeline activities of the unit. Falak Naz NSS Volunteer conducted the Proceedings of the Programme, While as Prof. Junaid Jazib HOD EVS presented the vote of thanks.
