NPSU opposes controversial naming of cable car project

JAMMU: National Panthers Students Union (NPSU) on Tuesday held a protest against the State Government for hurting the sentiments of Jammuites.
The angry protesters gathered in front of the main gate of Jammu University and burnt the effigy of State Government amidst slogans. The protest was led by Virender Singh, State President NPSU, who said that this is really matter of concern that government wants to replace nomenclature of cable project from ‘Mubarak Mandi-Bahu Fort’ to ‘Shahabad Cable Car Project’.
“This move of government shows that it is trying to suppress the history of Dogras totally from Jammu region which shall not be tolerated by Jammuites” said said.
Singh added that this move of government is nothing but a provocative move to pinch the religious sentiment of Jammuites.
“This is high time for Jammuites to unite and protest against this autocratic and communal decision of government,” he said. Singh questioned BJP to clear their stand on this decision. Singh warned State Government if it changes the nomenclature of this cable project then be ready for facing the resentment of lakhs of Jammuites. Others present in the protest were lovely Singh, Lucky Chib, Chetan Sharma, Baldev Singh, Sumit Singh and Shubam Jasrotia.
