JAMMU: National Panthers Student Union (NPSU) on Thursday served legal notice to all the telecom companies which are running at Jammu province and asked them to compensate the net packs which were blocked from 8th to 19th July 2016.
In the notice, State President NPSU, Thakur Virender Singh categorically asked telecom companies that “There was no unrest or any situation in Jammu province which should have forced your institutions to deprive the customers/consumers of the benefit of mobile/telephone. There was no emergency declared by the Government of India or any other situation which would have necessitated such legal and damaging action by suspending Internet services in Jammu Province.” Singh stressed upon various telecom companies to pay damages to the consumers from 8th to 19th July 2016 as a compensation failing which it shall be dealt on the legal platform. Singh assured the people of Jammu Pradesh that NPSU will take this battle on the floor of Supreme Court of India if the demand is not fulfilled.
