JAMMU: National Panthers Party (NPP) urged on the Parliament to decide on the merger of J and K with Union of India which was not done on 26th January 1950, which has created a constitutional crisis.
Speaking to media persons here on Thursday, Patron NPP, Prof. Bhim Singh said that a contempt petition against the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir shall be filed in the Supreme Court for willfully defying the orders of the Supreme Court to pay compensation to Panthers Party leaders namely Anita Thakur (Rs 2 lakhs), Advocate H.C Jalmeria (Rs 1 lakh) and P.K Ganju (Rs 1 lakh).
“The order was passed on 12th August, 2016. It was to be paid by J and K Government within two months. There is an open defiance of the order of the Supreme Court,” he said.
Speaking on the West Pakistani refugees who have been residing in J and K as orphaned since 1947, NPP Supremo accused the Parliament of India for ignoring nearly 85,000 human beings who were forced to migrate from the Indian Territory called Pakistan in 1947.
“They were settled by the then Administrator of Jammu and Kashmir, Sheikh Mohammad Abdulla in 1947 on the border district namely, Kathua, Jammu and Poonch. They were allotted land for on the border areas,” NPP Supremo said adding that children, grandchildren and others born in Jammu and Kashmir cannot be denied their right to reside/settled in Jammu and Kashmir. This is International Law and no power on earth can deny them their birth right in J and K, he emphasised.
Bhim Singh said that reorganization is the only solution to ensure social, political and constitutional rights to all citizens of India residing in Ladakh, Kashmir Valley and Jammu Pradesh.
