Most of stolen cars sold in J&K, Odisha

JAMMU: Two Kashmir-based stolen-car receivers have been arrested in Delhi along with a notorious car lifter Kunal alias Tanuj alias Tarun alias Vijay, resident of Amar Coloney Delhi.
The stolen-car receivers have been identified as Suhail alias Jana (42) and Adil Irshad Bhat (32) both residents of Srinagar. The Anti-Vehicle Theft Squad (AATS) of South-East district arrested car lifter Kunal alias Tanuj who had created terror by stealing vehicles in Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
The accused Kunal, known as super car lifter was stealing vehicles for last 25 years and has stolen more than 5000 cars, police said, adding the accused Kunal had even got his face surgery done for more than five times to escape from the arrest and even used to steal luxury cars on demand.
According to the South-East police, in view of the incidents of vehicle thefts in the district, a special team was constituted under the supervision of AATS In-charge Rajendra Dagar.
During a special Naka, Super thief Kunal (42) resident of Amar Colony and receiver Suhail alias Jana (42), resident of Srinagar, were arrested from Tilak Nagar area.
Eleven stolen cars, seven fake number plates, one electronic pad, one dog and a vehicle theft equipment have been recovered from their possession. After interrogating them, their third accomplice Adil Irshad Bhatt (32), also resident of Srinagar, was arrested from South Delhi. The accused Kunal Kumar told during interrogation that he had stolen vehicles from all over India, but most of the vehicles are sold in J&K and Odisha. Further investigations into the case are under process.
