Notices issued in complaint against travel company

JAMMU: A Consumer Court on Friday issued notices to the Managing Director, Thomas Cook and Rajiv Gupta of Leisure Travels, franchise of Thomas Cook, in a complaint alleging fraud.
Mandeep Singh Counsel for the complainant Aditya informed that the travel package was booked by the complainant through Rajiv Gupta for Rajasthan through a payment of Rs. 75,000.
“In the package, certain facilities were promised free of cost and it was assured that this will be a lifetime memorable experience but when the complainant reached the hotel the facilities were below standard and he had to even pay for the facilities which were assured free of cost by the Leisure Travels. It was the malpractice done on the part of travel agency who is committing fraud with the people by making them to believe and trust on them”, the Counsel submitted.
Consumer Court after hearing the Counsel of the complainant issued notices to aforesaid respondents and fixed the next date of hearing on 3rd March.
