SRINAGAR: Reacting on the statement of Home Minister Rajnath Singh that there is no plan of talks with Hurriyat and his emphasis and stress on abrogation of Article 370 former Minister and Member AICC, Abdul Gani Vakil said that this is unfortunate that the Home Minister of India is unaware of ground realities in the State of Jammu and Kashmir. His approach regarding talks with separatists is dictatorial.

He said BJP should stop applying this dictatorial attitude and they should understand that it is only “Dialogue with all”, which includes Hurriyat also that can resolve all issues because dialogue is the only platform to move ahead to resolve all issues relating to Jammu and Kashmir amicably in accordance with the aspirations of the people of State.

“By confrontation and violence nothing could be achieved. It will only add to the miseries of the people. Home Ministers statement is provocative and will definitely add fuel to the fire and recent activities of militants have shown that his statement proved counterproductive,” Vakil said adding that at the same time will encourage the activities of militants.

“We have already wasted more than 25 years in violence and militancy. The society has received heavy jolt on all fronts. Thousands of precious human lives have been consumed by the violence. The economy has received downward dip,” he said.

Regarding Article 370, Vakil said no power in India can think of abrogation of article 370. Article 370 is link between J and K rest of India and whosoever tries or makes an effort to weaken this link will never succeed. Once if this link is weakened it will strengthen those forces who want to disintegrate state from the rest of India.

Vakil said “Some forces, who are thinking of eroding this article, are inimical to peace and tranquility in the State. After accession, Article 370 has proved a vital bridge between India and J and K.  BJP’s policy of grabbing land in the state to facilitate settlement of communal forces here cannot be permitted.”

Vakil said all secular forces in India are united to vehemently fight abrogation move in and outside the Parliament. It is the duty of every nation lover to discourage those forces particularly BJP which are banking on such imprudent moves. He criticised Narendra Modi’s policy to abrogate Article 370 and said: “How PDP is expecting settlement of Kashmir issue through one who is determined to abrogate Article 370.”
