Reacting to the 72 hours Bandh call given by AIIMS Coordination Committee from June 19, BJP State President and Member of Parliament, Jugal Kishore Sharma said that some vested elements are misleading the people of Jammu on the AIIMS issue as the BJP has already stated that the Party was committed to establishment of this prestigious medical institute in Jammu before it is set up in any other part of the country.
He said those spreading canards about BJP are trying to mislead the public at the behest of those politicians who were rejected by the masses in both Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. These politicians in sheer desperation are trying to disturb the situation in the State at the time when the annual Amarnath yatra is approaching near.
Jugal Kishore made a fervent appeal to peace loving people of Jammu not to pay attention to such people and trust the Party which is committed to establishment of AIIMS in Jammu at all costs.
He said the Bandh call will certainly affect the coming Amarnath Yatra and Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrimage. The people should trust the government which is committed for both establishment of AIIMS and completion of work on Tawi Lake.
He said unnecessarily canards have been spread about stopping work on Tawi Lake while the same has been done by previous government itself.
“No one talked that why work has been stopped over lake for over a year during the NC-Congress rule and soon after PDP-BJP took over they tried to create a controversy unnecessarily”, he added.
He said the Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh and Minister of PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control announced that the lake will be completed within one year and both of them visited the site to issue instructions to concerned engineers to speed up the work on the same.
Jugal, while making a strong dig at Congress, wanted to know what happened to the previous decision of NDA Government regarding upgradation of GMC Jammu to the AIIMS level and who sabotaged the project after the UPA came to power at Centre and NC-Congress in the State. Instead of raising a hue and cry on AIIMS today these people should seek a reply from Congress and NC leaders that why they sabotaged the upgradation of GMC to AIIMS level, the foundation stone of which was laid by the then Union Minister of Health Sushma Swaraj, he added.
